"He was a genuine holy person with enormous integrity and compassion, and He had a powerful impact on those who met Him..."
"Being labeled Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva’s pujari in Mayapur, I have been asked to recount some stories in connection with Him. In the Pañcarātra scriptures, devotion is the only element that causes the Supreme Lord to manifest and protect His beloved devotees."
— Dr. Thomas J. Hopkins & Mayapur Pujari Accounts
Instant Benedictions & Instant Reciprocation
During one Gaura-pūrṇimā festival, a devotee prayed in the morning that she might be granted direct service to Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva. At that exact moment, the pujari called her over to distribute the Lord’s caraṇāmṛta. Desires expressed in Mayapur Dhām are fulfilled instantaneously by Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva’s infinite mercy.
Another devotee suffering from intense bodily pain stood before Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva’s altar and prayed for relief. She felt the suffering leave her body immediately. Time and again, pilgrims afflicted by illness or distress find complete relief upon offering sincere prayers at His lotus feet.
Divine Pastimes & Consoling the Pujari
When Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva first arrived in Mayapur, pujaris were nervous worshiping His awesome, powerful form. One night, after putting the Lord to rest, Bhāva-siddhi Dāsa heard a tremendous cosmic sound. Later that night, he woke up to find Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva sitting on his bed. As he panicked, the Lord gently placed His hands on his shoulders and console him: "Be peaceful, be calm. When you worship Me in the temple, there is no need to fear Me. Please, give up this fear."
Bhāva-siddhi Dāsa carried the physical impressions of Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva’s hands on his shoulders for years afterward, a testament to the Lord’s personal, loving care for His servants.
In another pastime, frantic parents searching India for their runaway son prayed before Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva during sandhyā-āratī. As the mother offered her prayers, her son passed right by her and stopped before Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva. Overjoyed, both parents accepted Vaisnava initiation and started a nāma-haṭṭa center to preach the Lord’s glories.
