Spreading the Mission of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu
Śrīla Prabhupāda established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness to accomplish the preaching mission of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Lord Caitanya unveiled the benediction rays of His saṅkīrtana mission to illuminate the whole world with love of Godhead. Śrīla Prabhupāda wanted the devotees of ISKCON to march as soldiers with the torch of saṅkīrtana held high in order to spread the holy name to every town and village.
Prabhupāda stated that Śrī Mayapur Candrodaya Mandir is the international headquarters for ISKCON. By the grace of Lord Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu, devotees in ISKCON Mayapur handle the responsibility of preaching Kṛṣṇa consciousness with unwavering dedication across specialized departments.
Outreach Departments & Initiatives
Book Distribution (Saṅkīrtana Department)
Śrīla Prabhupāda presents Kṛṣṇa consciousness in a very simple and practical way in his books. His spiritual master, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, referred to the distribution of Kṛṣṇa conscious books as Bṛhad Mṛdaṅga, the greater drum, and instructed Śrīla Prabhupāda to print books whenever he got money. In accordance with that instruction, Śrīla Prabhupāda wanted books to be distributed in every town and village.
Congregational Development Ministry (CDM)
Śrīla Prabhupāda set into motion congregational preaching on a global scale as envisioned by Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura. Inspired by this vision, HH Jayapatākā Swāmī started ISKCON’s Congregational Development Ministry to support devotees worldwide through coaching, education, and systems of support for connecting, cultivating, and caring for people.

College Outreach (ISKCON Youth Forum)
Started in June 2006 to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness to college and university students in West Bengal. Established in Durgapur with dedicated preaching activities, hosting events like the Utsaha Festival which draws hundreds of college students.
Jāgratā Chātra Samāj
Started during the Śrīla Prabhupāda Centennial in 1996 after conducting 1,000 school programs. Jāgratā Chātra Samāj trains students in active preaching and practicing Kṛṣṇa consciousness with a dedicated team of staff.

Mayapur Local Preaching (MLP)
Established on June 21, 2012, MLP preaches the teachings of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to local people across Nadia District, covering Krishnanagar, Dhubulia, Nabadwip town, and the entire Navadvīpa Maṇḍala area.
Visitor Outreach
Goal-oriented preaching to assist every visitor at Śrī Mayapur Candrodaya Mandir in chanting the holy names of Kṛṣṇa as instructed by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, including japa bead chanting guidance and writing holy names.
